Banking and Financial Services
Opening of Bank Accounts
We apply for a bank account in digital banks or neobanks. We do not give any guarantee that the LLC's bank account will be approved as the decision is made by the Compliance area of the bank. They base their decision not only on the business model declared by the LLC, but also on the member(s) not having any impediment that for the bank is reason to decline the account.
The neobanks support businesses of digital entrepreneurs and demand a series of requirements, among them that the LLC has a website and active social media accounts where it promotes its products or services. Also, the LLC must have future plans to maintain some link with the US, for example, have clients, suppliers, investors, etc. in the US and be able to prove it when requested to do so.
Yes, the EIN is needed to carry out any procedure in the USA.
The account can be linked to payment gateways such as Stripe so that payments made by the LLC's customers can be deposited into the account.
The neobanks account offers physical and virtual debit cards and allows international and domestic transfers at no cost.
It is not a business they support at this time.
We have different neobanks and we do the best job possible to get the accounts opened. You should keep in mind that if any of the members do not pass Compliance or if after the account is opened the bank decides to close it, this is completely out of our control.
Yes, the LLC incorporation documents we provide allow you to apply for a bank account in a physical bank in the USA. It is recommended that you check with the physical bank first to find out what their requirements are as they vary from bank to bank.

Neobanks like Mercury send it for free to the address chosen by the customer, if the customer does not provide a shipping address, Mercury sends it to the resident agent's office who charges to send it to the customer's final address. Other neobanks only send it to an address in the US, which may be the resident agent we provide and then you are quoted for shipping to your country.

The W8 is for international and causes you to withhold 30% on average in taxes.
The W9 is for US persons and does not create the withholding, but in your tax return is reported, but being international would be $0 for not having the tax nexus.
As your LLC is of a member, initially the system classifies you as an individual person and would assign the W8. What we have seen that Amazon sellers do is to register under W9 and then in the tax return they specify that they are not tax residents and so they do not withhold, and they complete it with the LLC info and the EIN.
Being international there is the tax benefit at the income level. As we are not Amazon sellers nor are we really involved in account openings, we cannot recommend one vs the other as it depends a lot on the setup you want to do. What we can do is point out the consequences of each and what we have seen clients do.
No. If you want to build credit history in the USA you must first have an LLC, then you must obtain an ITIN. Once you have both, we refer you to a person we trust to hire directly to help you build your credit history in the USA.
